Do you feel like your business is lost in the noise? Are you struggling to capture the attention of your target audience? If you’re ready to break out of the shadow and become an industry leader, this post is for you! We’re breaking down 5 proven tactics you can use to stand out from your competitors online.
Standing out online isn’t going to work if you aren’t willing to ruffle some feathers. Taking a stance on a thought-provoking topic can ignite discussions and position you as a thought leader. Remember, being polarizing isn’t about alienating, even though it might seem that way – it’s about attracting a passionate community that resonates with your beliefs.
Become Your Villian
Yes, you heard that right – become the villain, but in the best way possible! Your villain goes against your industry norms and indirectly addresses your competitors. To find your villain, ask yourself these questions: What is something people preach in your field that you disagree with? Why do you believe what you do? What made you feel that way? Embrace your bold opinions and don’t be afraid to rock the boat. A memorable villain will leave a lasting impression.
Sprinkle YOUR unique story into your content. People buy from people, not businesses. Your audience wants to know YOU. What are your experiences? How have they shaped who you are & your business? What challenges have you faced that you’ve overcome? No one else has your story, so capitalize off of that to differentiate yourself from others in your industry!
Sharing what you disagree with is one of the best ways to build authority within your industry. Using controversy gets people to think differently and shows authenticity. Controversy is what you teach and believe that sets you apart and builds authority with your audience- you don’t have to tell them you’re different. This is what sets you apart.
Evoke Unapologetic Personality
It’s so easy to copy and paste what is working for everyone else online, but I encourage you to swipe away and unapologetically embrace what makes you, YOU. People are drawn to authenticity, and showcasing your unapologetic self sets you apart from the crowd.
If you really want to stand out from the crowd, the best way to do that is by finding your villain and sharing what you disagree with within your industry.
