Dressing up without Dresses

December 28, 2016

Hey hey, it’s my Birthday!

I hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas filed with lots of love, friends, and family!

Today i am felling’ 22, ooh ooh (T-Swift lyrics I couldn’t resist) I know what all of you are saying, “Oh my god, you’re birthday is 2 days after Christmas. That sucks!” Actually, it’s not as terrible as you’d think. I am very fortunate that my parents have always done a fantastic job of separating the two. It’s double the gifts- two days apart. HELLO! Who doesn’t love that?! Most importantly, I will always be with my family for my birthday because of Christmas Break (apparently this doesn’t exist in the “real world” but whatever). The list of why being a Christmas baby is awesome goes on & on & on!

If you’re like me, you love a fancy night out just as much as you like those lazy nights in. Lately, I’ve been so over dresses and more into pants and pretty blouses. I got my hands on this Kendall + Kylie pant & shirt combo, and can’t get enough of it. When you wear a dress, most people think that is the easy, comfy route to looking cute with minimal effort. Think again! When I’m in these silky pants, I fell like I have transformed into some kind of pajama heaven. So dreamy.

PS: this look would be great for NYE!

Side Note: Can we talk about how awesome the backdrop of these photos are?! I was with my girl Layne Little doing our last shoot for a while ): and we decided to go to The Coop on top of the Graduate Hotel in Oxford at sunset and took these BOMB pictures. The Square was looking so fun & festive with the Christmas lights, and the sunset was insanely beautiful. Layne’s work is worth shooting in 20° weather on a windy rooftop!
